There are multiple areas and designated lounges at the bigger airport, the Benito Juárez Airport, where you can smoke. This is the main airport of Mexico City, where most international flights will be landing, as well as departing. You can recognize this airport by airport code MEX.

Smoking Inside Mexico City Benito Juárez Airport 

You can actually smoke inside Benito Juárez Airport, there is a special designated VIP smoking lounge in two different locations of the Airport, the name of this lounge is SMK Lounge. This lounge is in multiple airports throughout Mexico, and you can also have a drink here. 

A membership for their lounges starts at MXN 200 pesos, which is around $12 USD, and can be used for their other lounges across the country as well. The SMK lounges can be found at the final waiting area 19 Gate G, which has a capacity of 40 guests, and at terminal 2 you can smoke a cigarette on the first floor next to the VIP waiting rooms. This lounge has a maximum capacity of 15 guests. Besides smoking you can also have a drink at both of the lounges, and you also have complimentary WiFi access. Obviously, neither of the lounges gives access to people under 18. The lounges accept credit cards, debit cards, and cash payments. 

Smoking Outside of Benito Juárez Airport 

Besides smoking in the lounges mentioned above, you can also smoke outside of Mexico City Airport. Also outside the airport, there are designated smoking areas. They have their own ashtray and can be found quite quickly if you follow the signing. Alternatively, you can look for multiple people smoking next to a pole, there is a high chance that they are at the designated smoking areas outside. 

Can you smoke at Felipe Ángeles International Airport? 

Since 2022, Mexico City has a new airport, called Felipe Ángeles International Airport. The airport code of this airport is NLU. Contrary to the other international airport, this one doesn’t have any premium smoking lounges, and you can not smoke inside of Felipe Ángeles Airport. 

Can you smoke outside of Felipe Ángeles Airport? 

Luckily for all the smokers reading this article, you can smoke outside of this airport. You can smoke in between the parking area and the airport itself. There is a little pretty garden here, where it is permitted to light up a cigarette before your flight.
