Querétaro is a wonderful city with lots of things to do and to see. However, how many days should you spend in Querétaro, is very subjective and obviously differs for everyone. It depends on what you want to see, and if you want to explore the Querétaro region further.
How many days should I spend in Querétaro City?
Querétaro City is a beautiful city in the center of Mexico. It’s about 2 and a half hours away from the capital Mexico City. For most people, 2 to 4 days are enough to visit the most important sights in Querétaro such as the famous old aqueduct, and the beautiful city center. In these 2 to 4 days, you can also go out and experience the nightlife, or see the beautiful doll that Querétaro is famous for.
How many days should I spend in Querétaro state?
Querétaro state also has a lot of things to offer for people who want to go on a holiday. There are beautiful pueblos magicos (magical villages), such as Tequisquiapan and Bernal. As well as amazing wine regions, where you can enjoy yourself and have a great day drinking different wines and eating some amazing cheeses. If you want to go for a day or two to another amazing city, we also recommend going to San Miguel de Allende or Guanajuato. If you also want to see things in the Querétaro region, then it is nice to stay for a week or two.
You can use Querétaro as a base city to venture out to other parts of Mexico, as it is not as expensive. Just remember that if you are looking for stunning white beaches, Querétaro might not be for you. As it is quite far away from the nearest beach.
How many days you should spend in Querétaro depends on you
I can imagine that this is not a very conclusive answer. However, it really depends on what you want to see in Querétaro and Querétaro state. I lived in the city of Querétaro for more than a year, and I now still live in the state of Querétaro, in San Juan del Río. It does really depend on the person, maybe you fall in love with the city, and you decide to live there as well. However, if you are really wondering “How many days should I spend in Querétaro?”, my recommendation would be 2 to 4 days in the city of Santiago de Querétaro and a week or two in the state of Querétaro.
