Fiverr Seller Plus Review – I tried it for a month

Fiverr is one of the online platforms from which remote freelancers who travel make money. I also make money from Fiverr. When I saw that they released a Fiverr Seller Plus membership, I got excited; I had to try it. This is my honest experience and review of Fiverr Seller Plus.

I get it; you are a remote freelancer, so, of course, time is money. I just want to clarify that this is a review of Fiverr Seller Plus, not the complete Fiverr platform. This is it if you want a quick overview without too much of a back story.

As you can see from the quick overview above, after using Fiverr Plus for two months, I was not the biggest fan. That is not to say this isn’t a great deal for anybody. I don’t use Fiverr that much, and I don’t get that many remote clients on Fiverr. I am also a bigger fan of Upwork. Fiverr Seller Plus could be a better deal for someone who already has a lot of clients on the platform.

What is Fiverr Seller Plus

Fiverr Seller Plus is a new feature offered by the popular online freelancing platform, Fiverr. This membership program gives you new features that you can use to optimize your business, from a dedicated success manager to coupons to attract new clients and from more insights into your keyword research to priority support.

Overall, this sounds like a fantastic deal for someone just trying to start on Fiverr and looking for new ways to get more clients. As someone with only one previous order and whose preferred platform is not Fiverr, I had to try it out to see if this could help me get more clients.

My current experience with the Fiverr platform as a remote freelancer

As I told you in one of the previous parts of this Fiverr Seller Plus review, I am not the biggest fan of the platform. The platform feels a bit like a race to the bottom. Most of the time, you spend competing with people who offer ridiculous prices because their cost of living is lower.

However, as you know from this blog, we travel a lot, and the low prices I would have to offer on Fiverr to compete with other remote freelancers wouldn’t support our lifestyle.

It can be a good platform for some people, but you must find your niche to ensure you are not competing against many others.

Fiverr Seller Plus membership costs review

Before we go into this Fiverr Seller Plus review, it might be important to know how much it costs to purchase this membership. The Fiverr Plus membership will set you back $19 per month. For these $19 per month, you get a total of 14 new features that you don’t have as a regular Fiverr freelancer. Although that doesn’t sound too expensive, it is pretty pricey when you realize that most features don’t help.

Of course, Fiverr needs to provide some features to ensure that the upgrade to the Fiverr Plus Membership program is worth it. This is my honest experience and review of the benefits that the Fiverr Seller Plus membership has to offer.

Optimize your gigs with Fiverr Seller Plus review

One of the first things they offer in the Seller Plus Membership is a new way to optimize your gigs. I tried them all out, and these are my findings on the features they offer.

Advanced analytics

Advanced analytics is one of the features they offer to optimize your gigs. As you can see below, you can check the gig performance of your different projects and the click-through rate.

Dedicated success manager

Another exciting feature is that Fiverr Seller Plus is a dedicated success manager. According to Fiverr’s policy, they don’t take too many remote freelancers at once to ensure everyone can get personal guidance. I only found out about the dedicated success manager when writing this review. Safe to say, I didn’t have that much use of the success manager that Fiverr had to offer me.

Highlighted reviews

Another cool feature that they added to the Fiverr Seller Plus membership was the ability to highlight your reviews. However, I only had one client during my time on Fiverr, so this was not much help. This feature is best for more experienced Fiverr freelancers with more clients than me.

Negative keywords

Negative keywords were one of the most exciting features and one of the main reasons I got Fiverr Seller Plus. As a traveling remote SEO specialist, I love data, especially keywords that help me understand that data better. This does help a lot, especially if you are in a saturated field; the negative keywords can be used to your advantage when you need to stand out. It also helps you get more clients that match your target audience.

Take control of your business with Fiverr Seller Plus review

Another feature of the Fiverr Seller Plus Membership is that it helps you take control of your business. This is my review of taking control of your business feature with the Fiverr Seller Plus membership. As someone who uses Fiverr but does not have that many clients on it, I am least likely to find these features helpful. Let’s see down below what exactly “taking control of your business” means to Fiverr.

Faster payments

One of the main benefits of Fiverr Seller Plus is that the payouts are faster than usual. Usually, Fiverr pays out in about 14 days, but with Fiverr Seller Plus, it takes about 7 days. However, I think getting paid within 7 days should be standard, as 14 days is quite long.

Early payouts

Early payouts and faster payments may sound the same, but they are not entirely the same. I find this one of the weirdest features that Fiverr Plus has to offer. Early payouts let you clear a payment faster, but a fee applies when you do this. This feature is nonsense, and I don’t see how a respectable freelance platform can list this as an ‘amazing feature.’

Request to order

Another useless feature of Fiverr Seller Plus, like the one above, is the request to order. This feature requires clients to contact you before placing an order. Personally, I think it would be better if this was a standard feature of Fiverr instead of one that you need to pay for.

Access support and new skills with Fiverr Seller Plus review

You can also use Fiverr Seller Plus to get more support for your remote freelance account and develop new skills. Although I haven’t used these features that much, I think they are better than most other features.

Fiverr Seller Plus priority support review

This feature is not one of my favorites. Although it is incredible to get answers to your support requests within five hours, I don’t think it has helped me. Furthermore, I had already contacted Fiverr Customer Support before purchasing my Seller Plus membership, and I have nothing but praise for them. I think Fiverr’s customer support is already top-notch and one of the better customer support teams of freelance platforms.

Fiverr Seller Plus forum review

The forum is an excellent feature of the Fiverr Plus platform. As you know from this Fiverr Seller Plus review, the membership does cost money. Only experienced freelancers who can afford to pay the membership fees are active in the Fiverr Seller Plus forum. If you want to be the best, you have to learn from the best. That is precisely what you can do with the Fiverr Seller Plus forum. Furthermore, I am a big fan of communities, and a community of like-minded remote professionals is an excellent way of connecting with others.

Develop your skills review

Another cool feature of the Fiverr Plus Membership is that you can develop your skills. Most successful people will tell you that lifelong learning is one of the keys to success; with courses to develop your skills, you can become more successful at remote freelancing. What I also like about this feature is that Fiverr didn’t try to make a course platform but collaborated with CreativeLive to give you access to their platform.

Convert and retain customers with Seller Plus review

Another reason I got a Seller Plus membership was the features mentioned in the “convert and retain customers.” However, the features that we will dive deeper into were one disappointment after the other.

Buyer activity insights

Buyer activity insights may seem like a fantastic feature, but they are pretty useless in practice. With this feature, you can see what a buyer has bought before and how much they spend on average. From my experience, the biggest issue with this feature is that Fiverr has a big scammer problem, and so many potential buyers get blocked because they are scammers. Another issue is that Fiverr is used a lot by people who don’t want to spend too much money on their businesses. It is very usual for a potential buyer to buy a logo, an SEO service, a website, and a Google Ads campaign on the platform. Therefore, knowing how much a buyer has spent on the platform is not helpful.

Coupons

This is one of the features I was most excited about when purchasing the Fiverr Seller Plus membership. I turned this feature on immediately with very high expectations. However, it didn’t give me any clicks or chats with actual serious buyers. The coupon feature of Fiverr Seller Plus was a huge disappointment.

New buyer promotion

Another feature I got excited about from the Fiverr Seller Plus membership was the new buyer promotion. This feature lets you boost your sales by offering discounts for first-time buyers. When I had Fiverr Seller Plus, no one contacted me when this feature was on. I am sure even more people contacted me before I had Fiverr Seller Plus.

Follow up messages

Follow-up messages might sound like a cool feature, but this one is definitely for more experienced freelancers. As the other features mentioned in this Fiverr Seller Plus review didn’t work for me, it is only logical that I didn’t have anyone to send follow-up messages to for my remote services.

Fiverr Seller Plus Review

As you can see, after trying Fiverr Seller Plus for two months and writing this Fiverr Seller Plus review, I am not too happy with the service. You do get a lot of features, but most of the features don’t or barely help your remote freelance career. I thought using Fiverr Seller Plus would help me land one or two new clients while traveling, but I was wrong. After writing this Fiverr Seller Plus review, I am happy that I can finally cancel my membership. As for me, Fiverr Seller Plus membership is not worth it all.
